UNIFY Solutions yesterday announced the first Community Preview release of Identity Broker v5, the first new major version of Identity Broker. Identity Broker v5.0 CP1 is available to maintenance customers of Identity Broker that wish to preview how the new version may benefit their Identity Management solutions.
“Identity Broker v5 is a major step forward in interconnectivity. Now using standards such as LDAP for integration end-points, it allows the Application Driven Identity Management story to have further reach on many more platforms,” said Adam van Vliet, UNIFY’s Product Manager. “Now connectivity for any platform to any application is as simple as integrating any directory, but with the same benefits of Application Modelling that existed previously, and even better return on investment for our valued customers”.
“It is part of our strategy of enabling best-of-breed applications to participate in Identity Management without vendors having to become experts in Identity Management. The use of LDAP as the end-point means this story can translate to almost any Identity Management platform, including those situated in the cloud,” he said.
“I’m proud that this leap forward in connectivity has been made possible by the efforts of our Research and Development group,” said Shane Day, Chief Technology Officer. “It forms the core of our Cloud Offerings and enables us to provide exciting Identity-as-a-Service offerings helping our customers make the best of Cloud and On-Premise Identity solutions.”
Community Preview 1 has been tested intensively with Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager’s Generic LDAP MA and the LDAP driver in NetIQ Identity Manager. The end-points are read-only in this release. The next Community Preview release will have read and write LDAP endpoints.
