How does it work?
UNIFYConnect uses employee information from your HR system to manage access to corporate systems. It automatically creates, updates, and disables accounts in your corporate directory. When an employee is added to the HR system, their details are read and a new account is created. Changes made to employees are synchronized automatically, and terminated employees have their accounts disabled.
Which corporate directories does it support?
UNIFYConnect supports Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and other identity management platforms. If your directory is not listed, contact us to discuss future support options.
How does onboarding work?
UNIFYConnect monitors your HR system for new employees and provisions accounts automatically. Accounts become active on the employee’s start date and can be used for role-based access control, group memberships, and licensing.
How does offboarding work?
UNIFYConnect detects termination dates in the HR system. When an employee’s termination date has passed, their account is automatically disabled, ensuring access is revoked.
How does it handle role or department changes?
If an employee’s position, title, or manager changes, UNIFYConnect updates their directory account automatically. This ensures group memberships and access permissions remain aligned with their new role.
Does this improve security?
Yes. UNIFYConnect helps eliminate ghost accounts, ensures accurate access control, and maintains compliance with Essential 8 & AISM security standards.
What do I need to have?
You must have:
- An HR system (e.g., Aurion HRIS)
- A corporate directory (Microsoft Entra ID, AD, or other supported IDAM solutions)
- Internet connectivity for cloud-based solutions or an UNIFYConnect Agent for on-premises environments.
Do I need to install anything?
If your HR system and directory are cloud-based, no installation is needed. For on-premises deployments, a UNIFYConnect Agent may be required.
Where is the service hosted?
UNIFYConnect is a cloud-based service hosted in Microsoft Azure, with data centers in Australia East, Australia Southeast, and other regions as required.
How secure is the service?
UNIFYConnect follows ISO 27001 standards, ensuring data encryption at rest and in transit. Each customer’s data is stored separately.
How frequently does synchronization occur?
Synchronization schedules are configurable based on business needs. Contact UNIFY to optimize your sync frequency.
How do I manage Microsoft 365 Licenses?
Microsoft Entra ID supports Group-Based Licensing (GBL), which assigns licenses based on dynamic or fixed groups. Learn more at Microsoft Docs.
