Delegated Access for Assessment Applications

Executive health assessment services need clear boundaries around access to their applications. UNIFYElevate can support delegated user, role and application administration within the scope set by the service owner. This use case concerns access administration; clinical records and decisions about who may view health information remain governed by the assessment provider’s systems and policies.

Who Owns the Access Decisions?

The assessment provider defines which applications, roles and administrative actions can be delegated. Approved administrators manage users and access within those boundaries.

Administrative authority does not itself entitle a person to view assessment results. Participation in a corporate wellness service, or employment by the same company as an executive, should not be treated as permission to access that executive’s health information.

An Access Administration Scenario

An assessment provider operates an application used by approved staff and service partners. The provider wants designated administrators to handle routine access changes while retaining control of the permitted roles and scope.

The service owner defines the roles and administrative actions available to each administrator. User onboarding, role changes and access removal then follow the configured scope and workflows. The provider’s clinical application continues to control its records and the permissions required to view or share them.

The purpose is to delegate access operations within defined limits, rather than turn the identity administration platform into a clinical records system.

Define the Boundaries Before Delegating

Before implementation, establish:

  • Which applications and roles are in scope.
  • Who may administer access, and the limits of that authority.
  • How access is changed or removed when responsibilities end.
  • How administrative activity is recorded for support and review.
  • Which controls remain in the provider’s clinical applications and operating policies.

UNIFYElevate’s product model provides governed delegation of user, role and application administration. Any integration with assessment applications needs to be designed for the provider’s environment.
